SMOKE series

The SMOKE series initial response unit fills the gap between a mini pumper and a full pumper.

It offers excellent maneuverability, a high angle of departure, increased equipment capacity compared to a mini pumper, and greater affordability compared to a full pumper. These units are specifically designed to handle cottage roads with hanging branches, as the deck plate body prevents scratches on the paint. Customized to meet the unique needs of your department, the SMOKE series could be the perfect addition to your fleet.

SMOKE series initial response units are typically the first units dispatched to a call, especially if you don’t have other pumpers in your fleet. They are particularly effective for off-road and bush fires, and can also serve as a base pumper unit. The SMOKE series units are cost-effective and offer off-road capabilities that larger pumpers may lack.

There are various options available for storing suction hoses, including side mount trays, hosebed-mounted storage tubes, and tubes in the rear access under the tee of the tank. For storing ladders, you can choose from standard side mount racks, manual drop-down side mount racks, powered side mount racks, powered over-the-top racks, rear access tubes through the body or tank, and/or rear access tubes under the tank.

Unique Requirements

A custom SMOKE series initial response unit generally carries between 250 imperial gallons (300 US gallons) to 2,000 imperial gallons (2,400 US gallons) of water.

Our SMOKE series units feature a base flatbed body design, automatic transmissions, 2WD or 4WD, and a commercial chassis (Freightliner, International, Ford, or Dodge). You can choose between a diesel or gas engine, and select from options such as a side mount pump panel, skid pump units, or a compartment pump panel. Pump options include Hale, Waterous, CET, or Darley pumps, while valve options include Hale, Elkhart, or Akron. For warning lights, you can choose Federal, Whelen, or Code 3 systems, and decide between roll-up or flush mount doors. Please note that there is limited side compartmentation available, and this unit does not offer portable or full-size pump options.
