Today, fire departments are required to carry a greater amount of equipment on their vehicles to ensure preparedness for any challenge that may arise.

When the pager sounds, it’s crucial to be ready for water rescues, first responder calls, ice rescues, confined space calls, and more. That’s where a custom rescue utility unit comes in, designed to carry all the specialized equipment necessary to swiftly save lives.

Rescue utility units serve multiple purposes, including use as Chief’s units and initial response vehicles, as well as transporting additional manpower to the scene. These units are compact and agile, providing easy access to hard-to-reach locations. Internal compartments in the rear of the unit allow for storage of minor equipment.

You have the flexibility to customize an existing unit or design a complete unit on the chassis of your choice, whether new or used. The storage layout of your custom utility unit is specifically devised to accommodate your equipment and deployment preferences. Unique Requirements

Each rescue utility unit is equipped with an automatic transmission, a commercial chassis (Ford, GM, Toyota, or Dodge), and the option of 2WD or 4WD, as well as a diesel or gas engine. You can also select from Federal, Whelen, or Code 3 warning light systems, roll-up or flush mount doors, and various equipment storage options, including the possibility of adding a truck cap. It’s important to note that this unit only offers a portable pump option. Compartments are situated inside the chassis and, if added, in the truck cap. Typically, water, hoses, and ladders are not stored in the rescue utility unit.
