As announced in October 2018, Metalfab in partnership with the Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association (CVFSA) established a scholarship in memory of Fire Chief Jim Hayter from Alvinston, Ontario. Chief Hayter was a firefighter with the Alvinston, ON Fire Department for 44 years, 15 of which he served as Fire Chief. In addition to his dedication to the Fire Services, Chief Hayter was extremely active in the community including serving as Deputy Mayor.
Eligible applicants are CVFSA members or dependent children of members who are pursuing their goal of higher education under the age of 25.
Applicants must be in process or have been accepted at an accredited university or college to pursue a course of study which will lead to a recognized degree.
The award which shall be given to one applicant per year: $1,500.00
The awarding of the scholarship will be based on the involvement of the applicant with their school and community and also the academic standing of the applicant.

It can then be sent with the other items required for your application as detailed on the form. The deadline for receiving applications is Friday April 27, 2018.
