Hale Pump Training & EVT Testing

Hale Pump Training Session
Metalfab will be hosting a three-day Hale pump training session at our facility in Centreville, NB on August 22-24th commencing at 9:00 AM each day. Allen Hammill, Director of Training with IDEX Fire Suppression Group will be presenting an EVT pump course with a Hale tear down and pumping of a completed truck. The class shall cover preventative maintenance & overhaul on Hale pumps. Power point and hands-on presentation of pump tear down, primers, valves and new developments in fire pumps. There shall be no cost for this training session. If you wish to attend the training session, please fill out the attached form and return to info@metalfabfiretrucks.com or fax to 1-506-276-3648. The session is limited to the number of participants and shall be offered on a first come basis. A letter will be sent to confirm that you have been registered.
EVT Testing
The opportunity to write one EVT test will be available on August 25th @ 9:00 AM at our facility. If you plan to take advantage of the EVT Certification testing, you must register with the EVT Certification Commission prior to July 31 to meet the 21-day advance registration. Study Materials aren’t provided. The EVT testing registration form can be found at this link – http://static.evtcc.org/pdf_files/EVTExamRegistration.pdf . This must be filled out and sent to the EVT Certification Commission directly as noted on the bottom of the form. The cost for the testing shall not be included and shall be the responsibility of the attendee. For the registration form, the test site # is NB2018, the city is Centreville, and the province is NB.
Advance preparation is extremely important in addition to the training session to the successful completion of the EVT exams. To prepare for the exams, review the learning objectives and study references listed, which can be downloaded by going to the following link – http://www.evtcc.org/examprep. Study references aren’t included. The test related to pumps is F3 – Fire Pumps and Accessories. A listing of sample questions can also be found at this link.
Training Session Details
Meals – lunches shall be provided each day. All other meals shall be the responsibility of each participant.
Accommodations – The accommodations during the training session shall be the responsibility of the participant. A block of rooms has been made at the Florenceville Inn – 1-506-392-6053 – http://florencevilleinn.com/.
- Single Room – $105.00 plus taxes
- Double Room – $115.00 plus taxes
When booking, mention that you are with Metalfab to receive these rates. The block of rooms is valid until August 8th. Reservations must be made with the hotel prior to that date.
Dress Code – Dress code shall be comfortable and casual for the classroom. Our facility has a requirement for steel toed shoes and safety glasses, therefore please bring your own if possible. If this isn’t possible, toe caps and/or safety glasses will be provided by Metalfab.
Required Items – Pen/Pencil and paper are the only items required. All other items required for the training session shall be provided. Personal tools aren’t required.
