Hale Pump Training Session

Metalfab will be hosting a three-day Hale pump training session at the Dayspring & District Fire Department in Dayspring, NS on October 4th-6th commencing at 9:00 AM each day.  Allen Hammill, Director of Training with IDEX Fire Suppression Group will be presenting an EVT pump course with a Hale teardown and pumping of a completed truck.  The class shall cover preventative maintenance & overhaul on Hale pumps. Power point and hands-on presentation of pump teardown, primers, valves and new developments in fire pumps.   There shall be no cost for this training session.   If you wish to attend the training session, please fill out the attached form and return to info@metalfabfiretrucks.com or fax to 1-506-276-3648.  The session is limited to the number of participants and shall be offered on a first come basis.  A letter will be sent to confirm that you have been registered. 

EVT Testing

The opportunity to write one EVT test will be available on October 7th @ 9:00 AM at the Dayspring Fire Department.  If you plan to take advantage of the EVT Certification testing, you must register with the EVT Certification Commission prior to Friday September 13th to meet the 21-day advance registration.  Study Materials aren’t provided.  The EVT testing registration form can be found at this link – http://static.evtcc.org/pdf_files/EVTExamRegistration.pdf .  This must be filled out and sent to the EVT Certification Commission directly as noted on the bottom of the form.  The cost for the testing shall not be included and shall be the responsibility of the attendee.  For the registration form, the test site # is NS10719, the city is Upper LaHave, and the province is NS.

Advance preparation is extremely important in addition to the training session to the successful completion of the EVT exams.  To prepare for the exams, review the learning objectives and study references listed, which can be downloaded by going to the following link – http://www.evtcc.org/examprep.  Study references aren’t included.  The test related to pumps is F3 – Fire Pumps and Accessories.  A listing of sample questions can also be found at this link.

Training Session Details

Meals – lunches and snacks shall be provided each day.  All other meals shall be the responsibility of each participant.

Accommodations – The accommodations during the training session shall be the responsibility of the participant.

Dress Code – Dress code shall be comfortable and casual for the classroom. 

Required Items – Pen/Pencil and paper are the only items required.  All other items required for the training session shall be provided.  Personal tools aren’t required.
